Ping test to Colitu servers
A measurement, not an estimate: measure the round trip from your browser to every Colitu server now and find your fastest location.
The test sends small HTTPS requests to each server. The first request sets up the connection; the next five are timed and the median is shown. Jitter is the average difference between the measurements.
A browser measurement can be a few milliseconds above the app's, because the HTTP layer counts too. With the VPN on, the measurement runs inside the tunnel; turn the VPN off for a true result.
Frequently asked questions
Why do I need to sign in?
The measurement goes straight to the servers' addresses. We do not show server addresses publicly, to keep them from being blocked; signed-in users already receive them in their app configuration.
Why is it different from the ping in the app?
The app measures with the VPN protocol, the browser with HTTPS. The difference is usually a few milliseconds; the order stays the same.
Can I use it with a free account?
Yes. A free Colitu account is enough.
