1. Purpose
Colitu is built to protect your privacy and give you safe access to the internet. To protect our infrastructure and other users, the following rules apply to everyone. This policy is part of the Terms of Service.
2. Prohibited use
You may not use the Service for:
- Cyber attacks: DDoS, port scanning, vulnerability scanning, brute-force attempts, unauthorised access to systems.
- Malware: viruses, ransomware, botnet command-and-control or distributing malicious software.
- Spam: bulk unsolicited e-mail, SMS or messages; running open mail relays. Outgoing SMTP connections (port 25) through the Service may be blocked.
- Fraud: phishing, fake websites, using stolen cards or accounts, payment fraud.
- Child abuse: any material depicting the sexual abuse of children. Where such content is found the account is closed permanently and, where the law requires, reported to the competent authorities.
- Violence and terrorism: inciting violence, terrorist propaganda, content threatening the safety of others.
- Harassment: threatening or harassing others or publishing their personal information without consent.
- Intellectual property infringement: distributing copyrighted content without permission.
- Infrastructure abuse: sharing or reselling an account, trying to exceed the device limit, creating fake accounts to claim the free plan or a trial repeatedly, generating automated traffic that overloads our servers.
3. Torrent and P2P
Torrent and P2P traffic is allowed only on servers that permit it and are shown in the app under the Torrent category. On those servers too, share only lawful content (for example open-source software distributions).
4. Fair use
Unlimited plans are for personal use. If an account's traffic keeps degrading service quality for other users, we will contact you first and, if needed, temporarily limit that account's speed.
5. Consequences
Depending on how serious the breach is, we may:
- send a warning,
- restrict access to certain servers or ports,
- suspend the account temporarily,
- close the account without refund for serious or repeated breaches.
Because of our no-logs policy we cannot trace a past connection back to a user. We therefore detect and prevent abuse through abnormal traffic at server level (for example scanning or attack signatures).
6. Reporting abuse
To report abuse originating from Colitu IP addresses, e-mail support@colitu.com with "Abuse" in the subject line. Please include:
- the IP address and port involved,
- the date, time and time zone of the incident,
- a description of the incident and any logs.
We usually review reports within 2 business days. Requests from competent authorities are assessed under applicable law; because we do not keep logs, we cannot produce information we do not have.
7. Copyright notices
Colitu does not host content; it only carries traffic. You can send copyright notices to the address above; we review them and take the necessary technical measures on the server concerned.
