Colitu encrypts your traffic; Adaptive Connect monitors your connection and switches to a working server and protocol on its own when your network fluctuates. The apps are open source and no browsing log is kept.

- 3ConnectSign in with the same account in the app and tap Connect; the best server and protocol are chosen automatically.
When the connection wavers, you don't have to deal with it.
When a server slows down or stops responding, Adaptive Connect notices and switches to a working route for you.
This example explains how the product works; it is not a real-time connection simulation. How does it work?
Every few seconds, Adaptive Connect checks that the connection really carries traffic.
What happens when something fails? We measured it.
On 10 October 2026, the Android app in automatic mode ran for one hour; 11 faults were injected at random across 8 servers while a request was sent through the tunnel every 5 seconds.
Limits: single device, single network, one hour; faults were created on the server side, not with a real network filter. Results do not generalise to every network.
Method and all results- Successful requests
- 98.8%741 of 750 requests
- When the server in use goes down
- ~5 sa pause; the VPN stayed on
- Fault on an unused path
- 0 ssession unaffected

Is there a free plan?
Yes. Registered accounts can use 10 GB free every month on 1 device, with every server location open. No card is needed. The allowance renews at the start of each calendar month (UTC); if it runs out, the connection pauses until the end of the month. For unlimited traffic and 2 devices, try Premium free for 14 days with the code WELCOME.
How many devices can I use?
On the free plan you can add 1 device to your account. During the Premium trial you get with the code WELCOME you can add 2 devices. On paid plans the limit is 5 on Personal, 10 on Plus and 20 on Family. The limit is applied when a new device is added.
Do I need to pay?
No card or other payment details are needed for the free plan. Paid plans (Personal, Plus, Family) are paid on the secure payment page; your card details never reach Colitu.
What happens when the trial ends?
Your account returns to the free plan by itself (10 GB, 1 device) and nothing is charged. An open VPN connection is ended once at that moment; you need to connect again. What happens to your devices and how the allowance is counted is explained under “When the trial ends” on the Pricing page.
Which server will I connect to?
Colitu offers routes based on your access, protocol compatibility and the current health of its servers.
Is Colitu open source?
Yes. The source code of the Windows, Android, iOS and Linux apps and the browser extension is public on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 licence; only the server software and the account system are closed source. We explain what you can verify in the code at colitu.com/open-source.
