Frequently asked questions
Can I use Russian banks and watch Russian TV abroad with the Moscow server?
Yes, that is what the Moscow server is for. From version 2.5.3, the Windows and Android apps send Russian sites through the tunnel while you are connected to Moscow, so they see a Moscow address; the Linux beta sends all traffic through the server anyway. Some services also have their own rules, such as account region checks or blocking data-centre addresses, and a VPN cannot change those.
Is a VPN legal in Russia?
Russian law restricts VPN services and their promotion, and the rules change from time to time. Colitu is a privacy tool; you are responsible for following the law where you are.
Why might AI services not open through Moscow?
Several services, including some AI assistants, do not serve users with Russian addresses. The ✓ tags above show the latest test; for AI tools, pick a server where they are marked.
